No (major) spoilers, as always, but…
Still dislike Ragnar, Floki is all sorts of awesome (and sassy), really (re)gaining respect for Rollo, and Aethelstan has become such the Little Viking! *sniffles* I’m so proud!!!
Also, Aslaug (and Siggy) are still bitches. -_-
I haven’t watched the first season but 2.1 was on two nights ago and I watched it. Floki is like the crazy cool uncle we all have or wished we have. Also much respect for Lagertha [sic].
How many of you guys that follow me either play or a into any kind of tabletop RPGs at all?
I just recently started playing DnD 3.5 online with members of TAY. I still have no idea what I’m doing but it’s fun.
I have started to watch DS9, and I must say that this is the only Trek I like. Also Garrick is awesome on so many levels.Plus its weird to Zahir Sharq in Star Trek as Bashir.
Yesssssss you are converted. DS9 is the best Trek.
I cannot legally carry a gun, knife or my baby asp with me on my college campus. There have been multiple rapes this year on/around the campus, and my classes run to 8:30. I’m not allowed to carry the tools I need to keep assailants at arm’s length on my walks to and from the bus stop. Whee.
I hate these laws so much
They cause so much violence that could easily be prevented
I won’t lie… when I was in college I kept a gun in my car, a can of mace on my keychain and a knife in my pocket…. I’d rather be in jail than dead.
At school right now. Have a can of pepper spray on my keychain, a 4 inch knife (inch under the Texas limit) in my pocket, and in a month I’ll have a P238 in my truck. Even if the law allowing the latter didn’t go through, I’d do so because the Valero just off campus (where I stop often for gas) is the number one location for rape of UH students.
I had a lovely conversation the other day with some pleasant old gentleman in the Third Ward (awful part of town that butts in on campus, location of 20 armed robberies last year alone) and they told me they voted for that new law to allow us students to at least keep weapons in our cars. Best grandpas. (Also one of them was so cool. For your mental image, it was three ~70 year old African-American men, playing checkers in rocking chairs, and one was in a three piece suit with a fedora and an actual pipe. He was about to head off to work on his bicycle. Badass.)
Wow. I’ve never been to a convention. I didn’t know people weren’t nice there.
I mean, 80% of people are nice at the cons themselves but then you try to get to know them outside and wonder how the heck they’ve managed to function without alienating everyone they know. And then there’s the elitists who just aren’t.
Well Gypsy Danger has a sword
I have been wondering how things like Lord of the Rings would be viewed in the Shadowrun universe? I mean wouldn’t it be seen as very racist towards orcs?
I think the movies would be but the books wouldn’t. In the books it’s explicitly stated that orcs were elves twisted into evil by Sauron and similar dark forces, but the movies don’t present that origin so they’re just that way. I don’t think Elder Scrolls would racist for the same reason as the LotR books.
